Coquelin: "A full Mestalla has a better atmosphere than Anfield"
Since his arrival at Valencia CF, Francis Coquelin has found it easy to fit in at the club. Well liked by his teammates and the fans, the Frenchman will look to give both groups reason to be cheerful by helping them to get into the next round of the UEFA Europa League.
“We have a great atmosphere at Mestalla. I’m a Valencia CF player and I think that we have the best fans in Spain,” said Coquelin ahead of the game against Celtic.”
“They lift us up and cheer every time we play. I’ve played at a lot of stadiums. I spent a lot of time in England and there is a great atmosphere at Anfield, but when Mestalla is full –especially when Barça or Real Madrid visit- the atmosphere is just incredible. It even starts when we arrive in the team bus. We have a great stadium and great fans. We have nothing to envy about any other club in that regard.”
Valencia CF have not lost in 13 games at Mestalla, making them one of the strongest sides at home in all of Spain.
